Is Nuuly Worth It? My Honest Review After Renting for Maternity & Postpartum

A quick look inside my first Nuuly box! I’m due with my second baby in mid-October, so I wanted to rent pieces that would work for both maternity and postpartum this fall. In this video, I’m sharing what I ordered versus what I actually got — including cozy sweaters, dresses, and a denim jumpsuit that all felt perfectly bump-friendly.

I’ve seen Nuuly everywhere lately. Moms, influencers, even friends raving about how it’s changed their closets, so when I hit the third-trimester mark and realized how few of my clothes still fit, I finally decided to try it.

As a pregnant mom chasing a toddler and preparing for postpartum, I needed outfits that were comfortable, cute, and flexible enough to grow (and shrink) with me. Buying a whole new wardrobe didn’t make sense, so a rental service sounded perfect.

If you’ve been curious, you can sign up for Nuuly here… your first box gets you six pieces for $98 (and you can swap them out every month!).

But is it really worth it? Here’s my honest experience after renting for maternity and postpartum.

What is Nuuly?

Nuuly is a monthly clothing rental subscription from URBN… the company behind Anthropologie, Free People, and Urban Outfitters. For about $98 per month, you get to pick six pieces from hundreds of brands and wear them as much as you want.

When the month ends, you just send them back in the same reusable bag (shipping and returns are free). If you fall in love with a piece, you can even buy it at a discount.

Why I Tried It

Honestly? My bump was outgrowing everything.

I wanted maternity-friendly clothes that didn’t scream “maternity,” and I loved the idea of trying new brands without commitment. Between doctor appointments and toddler life, I didn’t have the energy for endless returns or mall trips. Nuuly promised to handle all of that… and deliver right to my door.

My First Nuuly Box

For my first box, I mainly focused on pieces that would work for both maternity and postpartum in the fall. I’m due with my second baby in mid-October, so I honestly wasn’t sure if I’d be mostly pregnant or already postpartum by the time these outfits arrived. I wanted options that could work for either season of life.

I ended up choosing:

Nuuly maternity rental box featuring six fall pieces: gray off-the-shoulder sweater, denim jumpsuit, plaid dress, cream ribbed sweater and flares, and white midi dress from brands like Hatch, Dot and Lu, Vero Moda, and Yumi Kim.

Everything arrived neatly packed, clean, and ready to wear. I was honestly impressed by the quality… each piece felt like something I would’ve splurged on from Anthropologie.

If you’re building your own first box, I definitely recommend mixing in a few neutral staples with one or two fun statement pieces. It keeps things versatile so you can style them multiple ways throughout the month.

The Ordering & Return Process

The site makes it easy to filter by size, style, or brand (and you can “heart” pieces for later). Shipping took about three days, and everything came in one reusable zippered bag.

Returning was just as easy… I zipped everything back up, dropped it at UPS, and that was it.

So… Is Nuuly Worth It?
